2025 Westchester County Community Health Assessment (CHA)
Now more than ever, it is important that the voices of our community members are heard to help improve health and behavioral health outcomes for all county residents. If you are 18 or older and live in Westchester, please take this 10 minute anonymous survey and encourage family and friends to take it too. The CHA survey is available online in multiple languages through July 31, 2025. For those who prefer to take the survey by hand, hardcopy paper surveys in English and Spanish are available for download. Individuals who complete a paper survey can drop the survey off at or mail it with a postmark by July 31, 2025 to:

Narcan Training
The Westchester County Department of Health offers free trainings for people 18 years of age or older who live or work in Westchester County on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose by using intra-nasal naloxone (Narcan). Naloxone is a prescription medication that is used to reverse an opioid overdose.

Rabies Alert!
An indoor/outdoor cat that resided in Katonah died on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 and subsequently tested positive for rabies. Cat was a white tabby of average size.
If you, a family member, or your pet may have had any contact with this cat, immediately call the Westchester County Department of Health at (914) 813-5000.
Anyone bitten by a rabid animal or having had contact with its saliva may need to receive post-exposure rabies treatment. When administered early enough, before symptoms develop, the treatment is 100% effective. Once symptoms occur, in humans or animals, the disease is fatal. To protect yourself from rabies, NEVER feed, handle or approach wild or stray animals.
Avian Influenza (Bird Flu)
Avian influenza, also known as bird flu, has been found in poultry and wild birds in Westchester County and throughout the United States. It has also been detected in dairy cattle and in other mammals. Human infections with avian influenza viruses have also occurred within the United States and the vast majority have been linked to close or lengthy unprotected contact with infected birds .Learn more about Avian Influenza.
